Equitable Bank is a Canadian bank founded in 1970. The bank provides residential and commercial real estate lending services. In 2013, it became a Schedule I Bank offering savings products. It is now Canada’s ninth largest independent bank, with more than $25 billion in assets under management.

The challenger brand says the shift of its architecture to Microsoft Azure will reduce overheads and ready the bank for up-an-coming innovations in open Banking. The move is supported by long-term technology partner Temenos and will utilise the Swiss supplier's cloud-native T24 Transact product.

EQ Bank has integrated TransferWise’s API directly into their infrastructure. EQ Bank customers will be able to send money from their Savings Plus account at “the real exchange rate,” paying a “small, transparent TransferWise charge.”.
