Overview
In October 2023, the Qatar Central Bank unveiled its five-year National Fintech Strategy positioning open banking architecture and an API platform as cornerstones. Open banking is viewed as a catalyst for novel financial products, enhanced customer experience, and data sharing between incumbent banks and fintech innovators. Qatar National Bank (QNB) launched an Open Banking Platform in June 2022 as an early market initiative.
